There are many opportunities to get involved at UUCM, in a wide range of ways to participate, from bringing flowers on one Sunday to serving on the Board. When a need is identified, it is assigned to a committee, so it doesn’t get “lost”. Below is a list of the Committees at UUCM with the areas of their involvement. If you’d like to volunteer in a capacity not listed below, contact the administrator to get connected and to bring your idea to life!

The Sunday Morning service is supported by volunteers who serve as Greeters and Ushers, bring flowers for the sanctuary, manage the audio system, and provide music.
Assigning volunteers to provide refreshments for the reception after the service is handled by a refreshment coordinator. All members of the congregation are assigned a week to bring food.
An extensive Religious Education program is offered for both children and adults.
Communications of the community include a weekly newsletter, design and maintenance of the website, and publicity for the church and for special events.
The Membership Committee works on increasing membership and integrating new members.
Denominational Affairs and Social Concerns members are actively engaged with the broader community, both within the UU denomination (the Unitarian Universalist United Nations Office, the UU Legislative Ministry, our Partner Church) and also in the wider Marin community (meals for the Homeless Shelter, housing the homeless in coordination with other Marin churches, creating a Green Sanctuary at UUCM).
Fiscal Management of the church is a vital function, and includes stewardship of resources and fundraising activities.
Buildings and Grounds require volunteers to maintain the landscaping and the facilities and managing the kitchen.
All church events need volunteers (such as AcoUUstic Café’s, auction, crab feed, retreat). Look at the calendar for an event you might be interested in assisting.
In addition to the committees and volunteer opportunities above, the following committees focus on more internal church matters. Contact the administrator for more information on these committees.
Worship Associates assist with the design of the service, and assist the minister or guest speakers during Sunday services. They often conduct readings and give announcements at the service.
